A Mother's Love
A humpback whale calf swims next to it’s mother in the Sea of Cortez. The calf will spend approximately one year with its mother. The mother and calf communicate by “whispering.” These “whispered” vocalizations are only about half as loud as those used by adult whales, making them less likely to attract the attention of any nearby predators.
